Life WILL knock you down...
Don't be disillusioned into thinking that you'll eventually get to a point where you are so enlightened, so intelligent, so spiritual, and so scientific, that you've got it so figured out that you won't have any problems.
Save yourself the energy and attachment to the nonsense of that idea. Life will always deliver you challenges; how you respond will determine the reward you reap.
Resistance can only be felt by things that are moving. Stay focused on your goals, surround yourself with people who believe in you, and don’t ever give up.
