This journal is mostly public because most of it contains poetry, quotations, pictures, jokes, videos, and news (medical and otherwise). If you like what you see, you are welcome to drop by, anytime. I update frequently.
Hey, who said you have to be entertaining all the time? i didn't. If you ever feel like telling someone that long and boring list you know where to find me. I'm good at my own long and boring lists you know? :)
yes, I do understand. I worry about annoying people sometimes as well. Though I think sometimes you have to allow yourself to whine a little. If someone likes you they shouldn't care.
Yes, you are correct; that is Helen Burns in Jane Eyre:
"I am very happy, Jane; and when you hear that I am dead, you must be sure and not grieve: there is nothing to grieve about. We all must die one day, and the illness which is removing me is not painful; it is gentle and gradual: my mind is at rest. I leave no one to regret me much: I have only a father; and he is lately married, and will not miss me. By dying young, I shall escape great sufferings. I had not qualities or talents to make my way very well in the world: I should have been continually at fault."
The second quotation is from Star Trek: The Original Series, episode: Amok Time; full quotation:
Spock: "Stonn, she is yours. After a while, you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing as wanting; it it not logical, but it is often true just the same."
*As to your question re: editing comments--if you have a Paid Account, it gives you that feature :)*
That's it!! I knew the second was very familiar.. I like old star trek but don't own't it on dvd. I have to wait until it's on tv. :)
I wish I had a paid account. Never mind, one day when money isn't so tight.
Note on additional quote: I don't think by dying young someone is spared suffering, I think we all suffer an equal amount in the end. We have many life times to suffer and then we are allowed freedom. Some say that's morbid thinking. I don't think so. It kind of makes things fair.
Comments
Just curious--do you recognize the sources of the quotations? ;)

"My life has been one long obstacle course, myself being the main obstacle"--well, there's the list in a nutshell.
"a problem shared is a problem halved"
*wants to know how you manage to change your reply comment with having to bin it and do it again*
