Here, for a change of pace and subject...I love the reference to "a friend of mine abroad"--and I do agree that Plato didn't really know what he was talking about in that instance; how could he? He had no experience in that particular matter himself....

Good-by--yes, I am going.
Sudden? Well, you are right.
But a startling truth came home to me
With sudden force last night.
