This journal is mostly public because most of it contains poetry, quotations, pictures, jokes, videos, and news (medical and otherwise). If you like what you see, you are welcome to drop by, anytime. I update frequently.

SOCIAL MEDIA DON’Ts

Posting patient information. Recently five California nurses were fired after allegedly discussing patients on Facebook. The nurses, who worked at Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, Calif., lost their jobs after an internal investigation and three weeks of administrative leave. You may ask, Why can’t I post anonymous images online? They do that all the time at conferences and lectures. Bottom line: Social media is not the right place for releasing patient information. Period. Posting images of patients (even anonymously) or any other information regarding the people you care for—people who trust you with their lives in their most vulnerable moments—is a big no-no.

Yes exactly. You dont know WHO is reading it and you have to apply the same common sense and discretion online as you would in the real world!

Yeah, a conference is different, somehow...maybe 'cause it's for professional use?
