I had not heard this before, Cat, so have no idea if reliable or not.

But I appreciate the links and "heads up".

At least you and I have "mirror" backup journals at DW (I post there first, and it posts automatically to LJ at the same time)...so if LJ ever goes out of business as a site, we've still have all of our journals saved and current.

Yeah, I came across it in comments in the LJ news comm regarding the latest release/update/mess-up they've done.

It looks well-founded, doesn't it...

And yes, I back up my LJ to Dreamwidth periodically, and a few of my LJ friends have accounts on Dreamwidth, and a few others got fed up with LJ for a variety of reasons and aren't really using it anymore.

This was the reply I got from one of the Russian LJ mgrs, when I asked him if the info was true:

"The facts are true, in that we parted with some of the staff at the US office, but the tone and the conclusions are not true."

Make of that what you will...
