When you think of cases like friends or family struggling with drug addiction or mental illness, I know that if love COULD HAVE changed them...then many of us would've succeeded already.
But yes, drug addiction, and mental illness, as I'm sure you know, have other factors involved, which makes changing all the more difficult...and yes, AA famously says that a person has to hit rock bottom (for that person) to want to change...
