The Science Jokes look hilarious, but unfortunately, Google Translate doesn't do images, and it's not terrific with jokes in text. (I know, I know: I need to just bite the bullet and learn Russian already. When I get around to it! ^^)
I really like the WOOP strategy for positive thinking. I would add to that, that after one has made a plan, one also needs to make a schedule (and a budget if applicable,) and then to track one's progress. The tracking is crucial; without it, the best-laid plans gang oft a-gley.
Nice link assortment; thanks! ;~)
Re: jokes, sorry about that, I was just looking if there's a link to a single English-language source, but there isn't (although most, if not all of them, are translated from English); I can tell you two of them:
the two snowmen, one is saying to the other, re: falling snowflakes: "Look! Stem cells!"
And the two flowers at the table, the bigger one is saying: "You're not going to leave the table until you finish your photosynthesis!"
The smaller one replies, "Mom, ple-e-ase..."
You're absolutely right re: following up on a plan. What we teach is that goals have to be SMART
Specific
Measurable
Achievable
Realistic
Timely (there has to be a timeframe)
You're very welcome re: link assortment! Pleased you found some things of interest to you :)
I saved the pic of the two cats in the boxes - how awesome, a totally-visual math joke with cats!
And, yes, regarding SMART aims...that support team at work helped us be more specific re goals and time frames and structured steps...it does make a difference:-)
Pleased to hear SMART is working :)
Do check out the SH story, if you'd not seen it before ;)
