from ananasbooks:
My favourite ting about reading a good book is when I actually forget that I'm reading it.
When I devour words without really being aware of it.
When I'm so lost in the world I'm reading about that I forget I'm not actually there.
I heard the voices instead of reading them, I feel the emotions instead of imagining them,
I know characters so well that I forget that they're only words on paper.
I love and hate, I cry and laugh at paper and ink. This is the weirdest and the most beautiful thing I have ever experienced.

Otherwise, one may as well be reading a dry textbook.
Cause it totally explains why some books I go back to again and again - while other works, I read once, and am done.
(This might help explain why there are so many genres, - cause different people like different styles, different themes, and one book won't satisfy all).
I quite agree--and also, certain books, and certain characters, one discovers something anew with each re-reading...
