Thanks; these will be helpful in my ongoing mission to nudge certain persons into going to a Real Doctor instead of relying on magic rocks and ancient Chinese woo.

I suppose there's no way of counting the number of patients who die due to 'patient error' such as not going to a doctor till it's too late, ignoring doctor's orders, and forgetting to take their medicine.

You are so right on both counts.

And--having worked in the profession for some years--that article did seem strange to me, because while we see errors, of course, the rate did not seem to be anywhere near as high as the authors claim.
