Hope this coaxes your Muses out of hiding.

Here's another, more general 6-word writing challenge from [livejournal.com profile] lindahoyland: Reuben's writing challenge

~~

And, here's my response to the Easter one; to borrow the phrase from [livejournal.com profile] methylviolet10b, there's "a metric ton of rust on the part of the author." Concrit welcome, as always!

My dear Watson:

I wanted to explain my prolonged absence and tell you about the case. A highly valuable Faberge egg had been stolen from the Russian Imperial Collection. I was investigating possible clues in the royal family's graveyard when I saw a rabbit hopping about. I was concerned that it would obliterate possible footprints and tried to shoo it off when I noticed that it sat down at one of the crosses and refused to budge. Curious, I came closer and noticed that the earth on that particular tomb has been disturbed recently. I was able to extricate the Faberge egg from the earth in but a few minutes. Unfortunately, the largest ruby on it was missing, and now I am endeavouring to trace it. Thus, I shan't be returning to England quite yet; you'll have to enjoy hot cross buns in celebration of our Lord's resurrection without me.

Sincerely,

SH

Reuben says his banner his well deserved. He would have chased the rabbit! I loved this Holmes tale.
