These are genius.

For the first time in years, we bought a (very small) tree but we haven't decorated it. So far, Nina is ignoring it which is weird because she climbs on top everything else in the house. We're not doing glass bulbs for sure. Probably not lights or tinsel either. Maybe ribbon and candy canes?

Hmm...

See how it goes, I suppose! Not having a cat, I couldn't advise ;)

Your user name is what it is, and yet you don't have any cats.

My username is what it is, yes :) And so is my default icon.

No, haven't had a cat, so far; have always wanted one.

LOVE this! : D

We "cat proofed" our tree this year, by leaving the lower two tiers empty of ornaments, with just the lights.
But they are getting better with co-existing with a tree. At least I was able to put my glass ornaments on the tree this year. : )

You're most welcome, pleased you enjoyed it :)

That's great re: cats' more peaceful co-existence with the tree and ornaments ;)

Awesome, thank you! My favorite has to be the one on top of the vacuum cleaner. (At the Bored Panda source, there's one protected from ornament-eating dogs by two vacuum cleaners, one on each side with the tree in a corner.)

My three cats, who came as a set two years ago, haven't shown interest in climbing the tree. (Which was a pleasant surprise, given how athletic they are and the way they tear around the house.) Still -- we have the tree in a corner, so I put up a couple of cup hooks and attach a length of fishing line, wrapped around the top of the tree a few times, so the cats can't knock it over. And we attach the ornaments very securely.

Hehe, glad you enjoyed!

And that's good re: your tree being secure, and the cats not getting into it :)

Some of these are really puzzling to me - the ones which are all trunk and very little foliage. How is that cat-proof? Do their cats NOT use all available logs for whetthing their claws or for climbing practice? Mine would, and a Christmas tree with branches all the way to the ground (but no decorations on the lower branches) would be a lot safer than an inviting trunk! XD

Upside-down trees seem to be all the fashion this year though! Back to the roots, eh?

I suppose it depends on the cat! Not having a cat myself, I have no personal experience to offer ;)

Hehe, yes, seems so re: upside-down trees :)
