I listened to the whole thing and enjoyed it. I'd never even heard of Efim Aleksandrov before this, but I'll probably check out some more of his music. ^_^

I can occasionally understand a word or two of Yiddish, between having taken two years of German a long time ago and having encountered a number of Yiddish words in my online reading.

Japanese is going well. I've reached the point where things are starting to build on each other, rather than everything being a bunch of unconnected memorization, so things should progress a little more easily from here on out.

I think that could be part of the reason so many Americans struggle with foreign languages, that many of us never get very much past that initial stage and so never really reach the stage of "speaking" the language in any meaningful way, instead being stuck at attempting to parrot memorized pieces.
