Я ослепла от успокоительных и вина.
Я оглохла от патетической болтовни.
Мир дошёл до дна, но не оказалось дна…
И в свободном падении каплями длятся дни.

I've gone blind from sedatives and wine.
I've gone deaf from high-flown talk.
The world has reached bottom, but it turned out there's no bottom...
And the days continue, like droplets in free-fall.

Делать всё, как раньше, на глупое “как дела”
Отвечать “в порядке” — странно, и нету сил.
— Посмотри, земля чудовище родила…
Но ответ не нужен тому, кто тебя спросил.

To go on about one's day, as before, and to the foolish "How are things",
To answer, "All right"--it's strange, and I haven't the energy.
"Look, the Earth has borne a monster..."
But the person who asked you does not need the answer.

Город держит гром, тревога дрожит в груди,
Часовой механизм беды ускоряет бег.
Подержи меня за руку, не уходи,
Это наш потоп и маленький наш ковчег.

The city is holding a thunderstorm, worry trembles inside one's breast,
The watchworks of trouble is picking up speed.
Hold my hand, don't leave,
This is our flood and our small arc.

Пару дней назад у нас началась зима,
И библейский ливень смыл ненадолго боль.
Делать всё, как раньше, на глупое “ма нишма”
Отвечать “беседер” — надо, чтоб быть собой.

A couple days ago, winter began here,
And the biblical rain washed away the pain, for a little while.
To go on about one's day, as before, and to the foolish "ma nishma"
To answer, "Beseder"--that is necessary so as to remain oneself.
